Simple Linctus (200ml Bottle): Simple linctus is an oral solution used for symptomatic relief of irritating coughs.
Directions for use:
Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years: Take ONE 5ml Spoonful upto FOUR times DAILY if required.
DO NOT give to children under 12 years of age unless your doctor tells you to.
Active ingredient per 5ml: citric acid monohydrate (E330) 125mg
ALSO CONTAINS: ETHANOL, GLYCEROL (E422) AND SUCROSE. SUCROSE 4g per 5ml, alcohol 6 vol%
Do not use this medicine if you or your child have:
- An allergy to any of the ingredients.
- Or your child is UNDER 12 years old.
- Simple Linctus should not be used in pregnancy unless the doctor has told you to do so.
- This product contains 4g of sucrose per dose. To be taken into account in people with diabetes. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
- It also contains 6 vol% ethanol (alcohol), i.e. upto 237mg per 5ml dose, equivalent to 6ml of beer or 2.5ml of wine per dose. Harmful to those suffering from alcoholism.
Potential side effects:
There are no known side effects from using this medicine when used as directed.
If taken excessively above the stated dose, glycerol present in this medicine may cause headache, stomach upset and diarrhoea.
If you notice any side effects, stop using and tell your doctor or pharmacist.
