Based upon the original killer profile of the smaller ultimate squid soft plastics, these lures offer anglers something for their quiver to tempt BIG predatory species.
The results during the testing phase on these have been promising to say the least. The genuine TPE 10x construction increase durability of these lures. The ultra realistic and enticing colour range has pretty much all fisheries covered with Calamari, Bottle Squid, Market Squid, Glow Ink and Nitro all available.
These lures have been released in conjunction with the larger ultimate squid rigs to perfectly present the plastic on some sticky sharp 9/0 hooks.

1/ These lures troll surprisingly well for a larger soft plastic. When live bait is scarce we have seen good results on these lures trolled over our local shallow reefs for Cobia (Black Kingfish) in particular. Other predatory monsters that are targetable with a presentation like this include Dogtooth Tuna, Broadbill Swordfish, Hapuka, Cod - the list goes on.
2/ The use of a downrigger with these enables anglers to get the squid down deeper on the troll and hold the depth.
3/ If anglers are unable to get their hands on a purpose designed Ultimatee Squid Rig a conventional jig head will do the trick just fine. Make sure the jig head hook is big enough though - around a 10/0 worked well for us.

No, not easily. The 10x TPE material has been tested and is in use across a number of other lures. In the design phase this lure ended up in some very savage fish mouths but lived to see another day without very minimal damage.
